Dr. Malik is a graduate of Aga Khan University Medical College. He did Internal Medicine training at Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis and rheumatology fellowship at University of Florida, Gainesville, where he also did extensive musculoskeletal ultrasound training for diagnosis of rheumatic diseases as well as ultrasound-guided injections for various conditions.

Dr. Malik has special interest in Narrative Medicine, medical humanities, and clinical education. His articles have appeared in various newspapers and magazines.

Dr. Malik teaches both medical and creative writing through various workshops and has been a visiting writer speaker at Florida State University, University of Minnesota, and Anglia Ruskin University (UK).
